Please share this with the guild members. Thank you!!!

I’m enclosing some pictures to update you on the charity committee activities.

This first picture is of Jenn from DYFS....(she may NOT have her picture in any newspapers (I removed the photo for blog! Denise~). She accepted 10 bright and cheerful small sized quilts to use as children are in crisis situations. She is super nice and was very excited to receive them. She said, “I’ve seen some similar to these. CASA gave us some a while back!” 😊♥👍 They we’re also from us!!! Small world! CASA shared with DYFS! Our quilts are definitely getting out there to children in need!!! Wonderful job, ladies!!! Jenn will let us know when her supplies run  low.

This second picture above is a twin sized quilt that’s going to a new member of Tranquility House!!! Remember when we made twin quilts for the 8 homeless girls last spring?!? One gal has graduated out of the program and a new young lady has taken her place. Thank you Sharon Wright for alerting us to this need!!!  😀 This young lady LOVES pink and purple, and this quilt happens to be big enough! So it fits he bill and will be going to her this afternoon! Again, thank you!!!

Habitat for Humanity was excited to receive the two quilts for the latest family to move into a Habitat home. It is a Mom and a 7 year old boy that moved into their new home in Whitesboro in July! Again, thank you ladies for providing for folks in need! CAMACO cares and that is important to so many! Sorry....no pix for these two, but they were shown at Wednesday’s meeting.

We are a caring and generous guild. I am honored to be part of it!😊 Please continue to make quilts for people in crisis. There are so many needs out there! I promise to make sure that your beautiful and varied quilts go to someone who is in need and who will be blessed by you and your hard work! We’re making a difference in our communities! Thank you all!

 Eleanor Neff

*Correction to Charity notes submitted 7/4/2019 below:*

Charity:    Eleanor N. wanted to clarify that it was other voices at the June meeting talking about "keeping it local" regarding the participation of Camaco and distribution of the quilts we make for charity to those in need.  Some of the ideas were discussed out loud, but there was no action taken by the members in attendance.

For example, it's been suggested there was a need caused by the Ohio floods that occurred earlier in the year.  Also "Quilts for Kids", a Philadelphia organization has been mentioned.   Eleanor welcomes your ideas or contacts regarding the recipients of our guilds charitable activities.
