December 2022 Meeting Minutes

Camaco Quilt Guild 

December Meeting Mins December 14, 2022 


The December meeting of the Camaco Quilt Guild was called to order by our Vice President, Mary Lou at 7:08pm. 

We had two guests. 

The November minutes were acknowledged with no changes/additions and approved. 

The Treasurer’s report: Old balance $XXXX Receipts: X, Expenses:$XXX New Balance:$XXX 

Badge: no receipts. It was voted a “free” night for all! 

Ways & Means: No W&M 

Charity: We donated 32 placemats to Meals on Wheels for which they were most appreciative. Sue asks that we hold back on the dog beds as shelters have many donations right now. Please don’t bring any dog beds to the January meeting. 

Open Sew will be offering a Calendar Quilt program for 2023. Eleanor will have info regarding a book for the Calendar quilt instructions (with patterns) to buy if interested, but Sue will have patterns each month available for any who wish to participate. You can still attend Open Sew without participating in the Calendar program. Open Sew will be the third & fourth (& if applicable, the fifth) Wednesday of each month from 10:00am-4:00pm. *Please note the new 10am start time. Reminders are posted on our Facebook page each month. January 18 & 25 are Open Sew Wednesdays. 

Hospitality: Shirley thanks the December volunteers for the wonderful Christmas treats and announces the volunteers for January are: Edwina S, Sue T, Connie T, Beverly T, Dale W & Sharon W. 

Media: nothing to report 

Programs: A reminder that there are still seats available for Ruth Ohle’s “Have it Your Way Applique” class on March 9th at the Millman Center. The class is $35/members and $45/nonmembers. Ruth will present a trunk show the night before at our March meeting. Contact Joey for info/payment. *update: all seats are now taken. Programs is presenting a “Block of the Month” program for 2023. The January block will be to make 2 log cabin blocks that are 8 ½” UNFINISHED in earth tones with a red center. One will be for a charity quilt & one for a raffle quilt. You could even make a third block for yourself! There is a pic of the diagram on our FB page. 

Old Business: The Code of Conduct has been voted to be a part of the bylaws. Motion: Joey, Seconded: Linda F., and the vote was unanimous for approval. The bylaws will be posted on the camicoquiltguild.blogspot.com website after the final copy is completed. 

Camaco Quilt Guild Board officers for 2023 are: President: Donna Frederick Vice President: Mary Lou Price Secretary: Connie Anzelone Treasurer: Clare Juechter 

New Business: no new business at this time. 

The Program committee presented The Price is Right game for our Christmas meeting which was a lot of fun. So many prizes were won! We had the potholder exchange. The potholders were all beautiful. 

Show & Tell: as always, gorgeous quilts and projects were presented. Please check out the pics on our FB page. Thank you to our Media ladies for their commitment to taking & posting the pictures. We do appreciate it. 

The meeting closed with refreshments & fellowship. Our next Camaco Quilt Guild meeting will be Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 7:00pm at the Millman Center.

Reminders: 

Dues ($40.00) for the year can be paid at the January meeting. You will receive your membership card when paid and we ask that you check the membership list to update any info for our records (change of address, phone #, etc). 

Bingo will be played at the January meeting so bring all those fat quarters you are saving! 

The log cabin blocks (x 2) for January can be turned in to Sue Tarrant/Doreen Dever at the meeting. 

We ask that if you bring items to put on the “give away table”, you take any leftover items home with you at the close of the meeting as we have no place to store them. Thank you! 

Open Sew will be Wednesday, Jan 18 & Jan 25 from 10:00am-4:00pm. ***If there is to be inclement weather on a meeting night, you will be advised asap through email and it will also be posted on our FB page.
